Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment used for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Shockwave therapy involves creating a series of low-energy radial wave pulsations that are directly applied to an injury through a person’s skin via a gel medium. These radial waves help to trigger biological effects which lead to faster and long-term healing and regeneration of the tissue.
Shockwave therapy has been shown to effectively treat the following conditions
- Shoulder - calcific tendinosis of rotator cuff muscles
- Feet - heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis
- Back pain - lumbar and cervical spine regions and chronic muscular pain
- Elbow – tennis and golfer's elbow
- Upper leg - Iliotibial band friction syndrome
- Knee - patellar tendonitis
- Lower leg - shin splints
- Hip – bursitis
